How old do you have to be?

Texas law says *You must be 18 to get a tattoo*.

Minors may receive a piercing when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Proper picture identification and proof of relation is required.

Do certain places hurt more than others?

Tolerances for pain vary from person to person.  In some situations certain individuals may have a higher pain threshold than others.  Generally the average person will experience some level of discomfort. Each spot feels a little bit different, and yes, some spots are a little more tender, but we encourage you to get your tattoo where you really want it.   It only hurts for a little while, it will be there forever.  There is no anesthetic available in a tattoo shop.  You must be a licensed doctor to administer anesthetic.

What are your sterilization procedures ?

We employ hospital grade steam sterilization procedures.  This system incorporates pressure and heat to destroy viruses and bacteria.  Dry heat sterilization is legal in Texas but not as effective.   Everything that comes in contact with the skin is single use and disposable.  An ultrasonic cleaner is used on all articles that are sterilized.  An ultrasonic cleaner uses sound waves to clean instruments.

How do I care for my Tattoo?

Leave your bandage on 3-4 hours.  Wash 3 times daily with liquid antibacterial soap.  Use antibiotic ointment twice daily for the first three days, then switch to Lubriderm lotion as needed.  Do not over-moisten.  Do not allow to dry out.  Do NOT pick or scratch your tattoo. No sun, tanning, swimming, or soaking for 2 weeks.  Showers are OK and encouraged.

How do I care for my Piercing?

Oral piercings should be cleaned with an alcohol free mouthwash such as Biotene or Tech 2000.

Non oral piercings should be cleaned with a mild liquid antibacterial or antimicrobial soap. Soaks with sea salt and warm water speed up healing and help clear up problems  you may have such as irritation. Alcohol, peroxide, iodine, and ointments should never be used!

What makes a good tattoo?

A tattoo is made up of several different components.  The three major ones are the outline, the black shading, and the color.  Each of these requires a different machine set up and technique.  The outlines should be consistent in thickness and definition.  The shading should be smooth and have good transition from dark to light.  The color should be laid in solid without 'holidays'.  These qualities combined should result in a tattoo that will stand the test of time.
